Dear Parents

HEAT WAVE

The children have been absolutely brilliant this week, coping so well with the heat, staying calm and settled, and showing such kindness to one another. It’s been lovely to see them continue to learn and be such thoughtful and supportive friends.

Year 6 Marathon Event

Year 6 ran a huge marathon fundraising event last week to contribute to their Disco. We will hold an assembly to celebrate the children’s impressive achievement soon.

School Decisions … The Big Picture

During the recent period of extreme weather, the school has made carefully considered decisions in line with official guidance and in consultation with governors, always prioritising the safety and wellbeing of all children.

We recognise that uncertainty can create anxiety for some people. However, some recent communications have made it harder for staff to focus on supporting pupils at these critical times.

I ask that parents trust the school’s professional judgement, show patience, and ensure communication remains respectful.

Thank you to the vast majority of parents who continue to be supportive and understanding as it is very much appreciated.

Irchester Country Park

It was a pleasure to join Year 2 at Irchester Country Park on Monday who created ingenious dens and could light a fire with patience and skill.  Mr Ebsworth and the team organised a great day of survival skills, scavenger hunts and orienteering and the Park Rangers were inspiring teachers. It is such a lovely, varied setting with lots to explore and reminded me how lucky we are with our local nature reserves and green parks.

New Leaf

A small group of children attended the New Leaf project at Courteenhall which is such a valuable experience for them. They stayed under the tree canopy having water fights and created clay sculptures which were fixed to the trees. They’re looking forward to next week.

Nursery, Reception and KS1 Sports Morning

We were lucky with the timing of Tuesday's Sports Morning for Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1. They had a lovely time, and it was organised like clockwork by the Young Leaders supervised by Miss Holmes and Miss Lee.

Sadly, Key Stage 2 has been cancelled due to the extreme heat but we will ensure the children in Key Stage 2 will have a sports day style session during their PE time, when the timetable, staff availability and weather conditions allow.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Friends:
